Biography: Professor Valery Shlyannikov is the head of Department at Federal Research Center, Russian Academy of Sciences. His research interests include fracture mechanics, continuum damage mechanics, computational solid mechanics, experimental solid mechanics and structural integrity assessment. He has published more than 90 papers in International Journal of Fatigue, International Journal of Solids and Structures, etc. He has received more than 40 grants of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research and the Russian Science Foundation. He serves as fellow of European Structural Integrity Society, honored scientist of the Russian federation, member of the executive committee of European Structural Integrity Society (2014-2022), and member of editorial board of Engineering Fracture Mechanics.
